Alfalfa is high in vitamin K, which helps maintain and support bone health and healthy blood clotting. Also high in other nutrients, which make it useful for helping to support and maintain digestive health.

What is it and what does it do?

Alfalfa itself is a leguminous, perennial plant, grown commonly as a ground cover crop in arid regions of Africa. In Britain we generally only consume the sprouts, to make use of the concentrated nutrients held within the seeds.

The main attribute of the alfalfa leaf is their vitamin K content (20,000-40,000 i.u. per 100g). However, its nutritional benefits do not stop there. Also contained in the foliage are vitamins B6, D, E and U, along with beta carotene and also several essential enzymes.
