Q.
how big is the Sunrise System Dawn Simulator?
A.
The dimensions are as follows: 130mm (width) x 110mm (height) x 70mm (depth)
Q.
If I select the light ONLY to wake me, how can I be sure to wake at the desired time without using the back up beeper?
A.
The beeper can be used as a back up until your body gets used to waking up to the natural light. This only usually takes a few days. However, if you are afraid of not waking up it may be a good idea to keep the back up beeper active just in case. Please note the back up beeper will not sound until the end of the sunrise, normally you would be awake by this time and able to disable the beeper before it sounds.
Q.
Does this product run on batteries?
A.
No, all of our sunrise alarm clocks are mains operated, including this model.
Q.
Can this clock be battery operated? How does my bedside light plug in? I want to use it say in hotel rooms so is it pretty portable?
A.
This clock is mains operated and unfortunately cannot be battery operated. Your bedside lamp plugs into a 3 pin adapter which is connected to the clock. It is portable, however, it would only be available for use within the UK, outside the UK you would need the necessary converters.
Q.
What does the alarm sound like? Is it possible to have a dawn chorus?
A.
The alarm is a buzzer, or a beeping sound. Unfortunately it is not a dawn chorus as such.
Q.
How does this product help in the treatment of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) ?
A.
Sunrise alarm clocks such as the Sunrise System employ light therapy in the form of a simulated sunrise to engage your natural circadian rhythms (your bodyclock), by synchronising these they help to alleviate the symptoms of SAD.
Q.
Does this clock come with a warranty?
A.
Yes. All of our sunrise alarm clocks come with a 12 month warranty as standard.
Q.
Does the dawn simulator work with ANY lamp - even lamps that don't normally fade? Also, how do you connect the lamp to the dawn simulator? Do you plug the lamp in to the simulator and the simulator into the wall?
A.
The Sunrise System is compatible with lamps that have tungsten bulbs up to 100w. Both the candle type (E14) and the larger round standard type (GLS) bulbs are available as an energy saving halogen bulb. They last twice as long as the traditional 100W bulb and use less energy. As a guide 240V halogen 42W = 60W tungsten, and halogen 70W = 100W tungsten. The SRS 100 is not compatible with low power bulbs or any other special bulbs. The lamp connects to a 3 pin input on the Sunrise System and then this connects to the mains.
Q.
Please tell me, is the light from these units the full spectrum, as in SAD lamps, or just an ordinary lamp?
A.
Sunrise alarm clocks such as the Sunrise System do not employ bright light therapy similar to SAD Lamps and are not measured in Lux. They instead employ light therapy in the form of a simulated sunrise to engage your natural circadian rhythms (your bodyclock), by synchronising these they help to alleviate the symptoms of SAD.
