Femmecup Menstrual Cup

from Femmecup

New and Improved Femmecup

The Femmecup is a soft reusable menstrual cup; an alternative to tampons, it is made from FDA approved medical grade silicone.

It is worn internally but unlike a tampon it collects the flow instead of absorbing it. It is around 4cm in length and holds around 30ml of fluid (approximately one third of your entire monthly flow).

Femmecup is non-absorbent so it can be left in place for up to 12 hours with no risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome. Femmecup is available in one size, so it`s easy to purchase with no need to study any charts for sizing information.

Femmecup is now made entirely in the UK giving total peace of mind about the highest standards of quality being employed at every step of the manufacturing process.

At Femmecup we pride ourselves on the highest standards of customer service and we value our customers views and ideas above all else. So whilst we were streamlining our supply chain we also did some research amongst thousands of menstrual cups users to find out what their ‘ultimate’ menstrual cup would look and feel like.

As a result of this research we have developed the improved new look Femmecup menstrual cup. Just as effective as the old cup and with the same capacity; still made of medical grade FDA approved silicone, but now it has some new features to make its use and hygiene even easier. The stem, which used to be a circular hollow tube, is now a solid, shorter cylindrical tube. This makes cleaning easier whilst removal is still simple and comfortable.

The second design improvement is that the writing on the inside of Femmecup has been reduced to make cleaning and hygiene even easier. The clarity of the silicone has also been massively improved making it almost transparent.

Eco-Friendly Femmecup.

The average woman uses 11,000 tampons and pads in her lifetime. This waste and the associated packaging all end up flushed down the toilet or dumped in landfill sites.

Femmecup produces no waste at all; imagine the difference women could make to the environment if they all use Femmecup instead.

We are proud to support the UK economy whilst making our business even more environmentally sound (cutting down on transportation) than ever before with no cost increases to retailers or consumers.

Femmecup is the highest quality menstrual cup whilst still being the best value available anywhere in the World.

Healthy Femmecup.

Femmecup contains no chemicals, absorbency gels, additives, perfumes or harmful chemicals.

Unlike tampons, Femmecup is non-absorbent so it does not upset the delicate balance inside the vagina; it does not cause dryness and does not leave irritating fibres in your vaginal walls.

The Femmecup is suitable for women who have allergies and sensitive skin.

It has been reported by many women that menstrual cups relieve and in some cases totally stop cramps. There is no link to Toxic Shock Syndrome.

Convenient Femmecup.

Femmecup is reusable so you always have it with you when you need it most! It can be left in place for up to 12 hours; imagine leaving the house in the morning and not having to think about your period until you return home in the evening.

The Femmecup can be used every day of your period, no matter how light or heavy your flow is. It can be worn overnight, when playing sports and swimming. It is totally reliable and ultra discreet.

Cost Effective Femmecup.

The Femmecup is reusable so this eliminates the need to purchase endless supplies of feminine hygiene products each month. By using just one Femmecup you will save as much as £1000.

We have translated our packaging (and instruction leaflets) into French, Spanish, Swedish, German, Romanian and Russian to reflect the global reach that our award winning product now enjoys*.

Femmecup is the future of sanitary protection!

Can you afford not to use Femmecup?

Usage:

Femmecup is a reusable menstrual cup worn internally just like a tampon except it collects menstrual flow instead of absorbing it.

The Femmecup forms a gentle seal with your vaginal walls and any flow is contained in the cup. It is then simply removed, emptied into the toilet, rinsed with water and then reinserted; Femmecup is always with you when you need it most!

Femmecup is non-absorbent so it can be left in place for up to 12 hours with no risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome; you may want to empty it more on heavier days and less often on light ones, it really is your personal choice as long as you always keep to the 12 hour rule.

Cleaning:

In between periods your Femmecup should be sterilised either by boiling in water for 2-4 minutes or rinsing with sterilising fluid such as Milton.

Femmecup holds up to 30ml, that`s 3 times more than tampons or towels can absorb; so Femmecup is great on heavy days and light ones too.

Femmecup is easy to insert and remove.

Notes:

It is 50mm in length and 45mm at its widest point. Femmecup holds 30ml of fluid (approximately one third of your entire monthly flow). It is worn internally but unlike a tampon it collects the flow instead of absorbing it.

When inserted the Femmecup forms a gentle seal with the vaginal walls so there is no leakage. The Femmecup is reusable and lasts around 5 years so it is highly cost effective.

The stem at the base of the cup is 25mm long and aids easy removal, it can be trimmed to any length; some women even remove it altogether.

The idea is sound. If you have heavy periods or clotting the cup may not be able to cope - discolours quite quickly and looks quite unsightly. Another problem is its not that convenient when using public toilets because you need to insert your fingers to get the cup - empty it down to toilet then if you cant wash it you must then re insert it with out rinsing, and then replace you clothes without washing your hands. Otherwise it's a good idea. I'm back on tampons!

I am absolutely thrilled with my Femmecup. I have been using a different brand before and they are both equally good. It's a total revolution to my life; I don't have to think about having tampons with me, I don't need to worry about leaks, I still swim during my period, I don't have to run to the ladies every couple of hours during the day and if out and about, I don't need to worry about finding a toilet, excellent!

It's a little bit messier than tampons but considering you only do it once max twice a day (at nights, and mornings if you choose to sleep with it) then it's not something to worry about.

My verdict, try it, you won't regret it. I love mine!

This is one of the best things I have every bought! Once you get use to inserting it correctly, you don’t have to worry about leaking etc. Sometimes I even forget its there! It discolours with use but I found if washed in salty water it cleans it up. I wish that I had found this many years ago as it would have made life easier and saved a lot of money.

I have just finished my period where I used the Femmecup for the first time - I am 40. I just wanted to let you know that I have been plagued with bad, crampy and painful long periods for 27 years. I had used traditional Tampax for that time. I can only describe my last period as 'pleasant'! Hardly any cramps and it only lasted five days instead of the usual eight. It took a couple of attempts to master the insertion but that was to be expected! After this it was plain sailing - even at nights it was 'safe and secure'. I bleed heavy the first couple of days so the first morning it was half full - but no leaks! I’m doing my bit for the environment too. I was shocked to learn that Tampax takes so long to disintegrate. Thank you.

When I first tried this yesterday, I thought I wasn't going to be able to use it. The stem was really uncomfortable. But having read that some people cut them off, I thought I'd try that. It's brilliant now. So incredibly comfortable, you just forget you have a period unless you get pains. I would recommend it to the world over and over again. I wish I'd tried it earlier!

I have been using my Femmecup for 3 months now and I love it! I previously had a divacup but have found femmecup far more comfortable and no leaks! This is the best sanitary protection option by far.
