Q.	Can you tell me about replacement bulbs are they a special bulb and are there freely available?
A.	The replacement bulbs are coated with a rare earth element, neodymium, this strips yellow light from the spectrum and provides a more daylight effect. Other than this they are a normal 60w candle bulb.

Q.	I am interested in purchasing a Lumie Body Clock - please could I find out the dimensions of this product?
A.	The dimensions of the Bodyclocks are as follows, all dimensions are in the format: width x depth x height: Bodyclock Sunray: - 14cm x 16cm x 17cm Bodyclock Classic: - 17cm x 14cm x 19cm Bodyclock Advanced: - 25cm x 17cm x 17cm

Q.	Please tell me, is the light from these units the full spectrum, as in SAD lamps, or just an ordinary lamp?
A.	Sunrise alarm clocks such as the Lumie Bodyclock do not employ bright light therapy similar to SAD Lamps and are not measured in Lux. They instead employ light therapy in the form of a simulated sunrise to engage your natural circadian rhythms (your bodyclock), by synchronising these they help to alleviate the symptoms of SAD.

Q.	Does the Lumie Bodyclock Sunray come with a warranty?
A.	Yes. All of our sunrise alarm clocks come with a 2 year warranty as standard.

Q.	Does this clock come supplied with a bulb or do I have to buy one separately?
A.	Yes, this sunrise alarm clock is supplied with a bulb that is coated with a rare earth element, neodymium, this strips yellow light from the spectrum and provides a more daylight effect. There would be no need to buy one separately. We also stock replacement bulbs if and when they are required.

Q.	How does this product help in the treatment of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) ?
A.	Sunrise alarm clocks such as the Lumie Bodyclock employ light therapy in the form of a simulated sunrise to engage your natural circadian rhythms (your bodyclock), by synchronising these they help to alleviate the symptoms of SAD.

Q.	How does the alarm clock know when to start the sunrise? Is it set to the time you want to awake and starts working a certain time before that?
A.	The Lumie Bodyclock Sunray is set to start the sunrise 30 minutes before the time you set as the alarm time. For instance, if you set the alarm to go off at 7am the sunrise would gradually start at 6.30am and slowly increase in brightness over the next 30 minutes, reaching full brightness at 7am. 30 minutes has been scientifically proven as the optimum length of sunrise/sunset. However, the Lumie Bodyclock Advanced, allows you to set this time between 15 and 90 minutes, allowing you to set the length of time best suited to your needs.

Q.	Once it has reached full brightness, does the light stay on until manually switched off?
A.	Yes, the light stays on until you turn it off. However, most people awake before it gets to full brightness at which point it can be turned off manually.

Q.	Does this product run on batteries?
A.	No, all of our sunrise alarm clocks are mains operated, including this model.

Q.	Is the bodyclock blue? It looks blue in the picture but there is no mention of the colour.
A.	No, the Lumie Bodyclock Sunray is silver in colour, the lighting of the photo above makes it appear to have a blue tint.

Q.	If I select the light ONLY to wake me, how can I be sure to wake at the desired time without using the back up beeper?
A.	The beeper can be used as a back up until your body gets used to waking up to the natural light. This only usually takes a few days. However, if you are afraid of not waking up it may be a good idea to keep the back up beeper active just in case. Please note the back up beeper will not sound until the end of the sunrise, normally you would be awake by this time and able to disable the beeper before it sounds.

Q.	How often on average do you need to replace the lightbulb?
A.	It is difficult to say how long the bulb may last. They are ordinary tungsten bulbs and should last as long as any ordinary household bulb.

Q.	How long is it between 'first light' and proper daylight on the clock?
A.	The gradual sunrise/sunset takes 30 minutes.

Q.	Does this clock make any sort of noise eg a tick or click when numbers change or an electric hum?
A.	No, this clock is silent in operation.

Mornings just got better! I had read about the Lumie Bodyclock and was a little sceptical but I needn't have worried, I love mine and wouldn't be without it. 5 out of 5, excellent if you have trouble getting up in the mornings like me.

Excellent product, haven't used the buzzer alarm since I got this so no 'jolt' when waking up. Doesn't look that great but it works!

I am delighted with my Bodyclock Sunray. I have woken up for the past 18 months with such a calming and relaxed frame of mind. The pretty rays of light shining on my wall makes waking up a pleasure.

I was a little bit sceptical especially as I was spending almost £60 on an alarm clock. However after reading a newspaper article about SAD, recommending lumie lamps, I decided to give it a go. So I ordered one in time for when the clocks went back. One year on and I wouldn't be without it. I feel so much more human in the morning, actually awake and alert! FANTASTIC just like waking up to the summer sun. I would have no hesitation in recommending it.

I'm marking this clock down for 3 reasons. 1, for a clock which wakes you up with a gentle sunrise it seems a bit daft to have a flashing, constantly lit digital diplay (a button to press if you want to see the time would be nicer?). 2, if you deactivate the beeper and sleep through the "sunrise", the clock switches straight to "sunset" rather than staying on full brightness so you can wake up still in the dark an hour later (as I did). 3 you can't have a sunset without activating the wake up alarm for a sunrise so if you only want a wind down you have to change the wake up time as well.
