What is Collagen?

Collagen is the main protein of connective tissue in animals and the most abundant protein in mammals, making up about 25% of the total. It is tough and inextensible, with great tensile strength, it is the main component of cartilage, ligaments and tendons and the main protein component of bone and teeth.

Collagen is responsible for skin strength and elasticity, and its degradation leads to wrinkles that accompany aging. It strengthens blood vessels and plays a role in tissue development. It is also present in the cornea and lens of the eye in crystalline form.

Q.	Is the powder form better to take than capsules? Also would collagen be beneficial for wrinkles and fine lines? Also how long would it take to see some evidence of it working if it was taken every day?
A.	The powder is always better than the capsule form as it means one less level of processing so the product usually has more nutrient value and is more easily absorbed by the body. Collagen is very beneficial for the skin and will help to reduce fine lines and wrinkles as well as firming the skin. If taken everyday you will should start to see improvements within 3-4 weeks.
Q.	Can I mix Collaflex drink with a milk drink like ovaltine?
A.	You should not mix it with a hot drink as it will destroy the nutrient value of the product. It is best mixed with water or a juice.
