ApiNate Dressings are comprised of UMF Active Manuka Honey and Alginate Fibre. The dressings are absorbent, non-adherent, CE marked medical devices.
Comvita Medical offers a novel natural honey based barrier dressing for a wide range of wound types, including those difficult to heal wounds. ApiNate not only provides a moist wound healing environment, but delivers naturally occurring antibacterial protection in an absorbent alginate (seaweed) fibre base. ApiNate supports management of multiple wound types in a cost effective manner.
ApiNate Dressings can be used as an alternative to or in combination with Manukacare 18+ depending on the type and position of the wound.

Ingredients:
Medical Grade Manuka (Leptospermum scoparium) Honey, Calcium Alginate (Laminaria hyperborean) fibre.
Contraindication:
Caution: Do not use where there is a known allergy to honey. Allergy to bee stings does not prevent the use of this product.
Some stinging may occur on application. This is due to honey's acidity and will ease as the inflammation in the wound decreases. If pain persists, wash the honey off.
ApiNate contains high levels of glucose. Although no instance of increased levels of sugar in the bloodstream has been reported, it is advisable to monitor the blood sugar levels of diabetic patients.
