This unique YES/NO food intolerance test is the quick way to determine whether or not your symptoms could be food related.

It does not provide a list of different foods, but gives you a positive or negative result. If negative, then you can rule out food as the problem. If you get a positive result, you can choose to ‘upgrade’ your Indicator test for a more in-depth analysis. YorkTest will arrange for your blood sample to be analysed fully. YorkTest Laboratories uses a two-stage process designed to test for food intolerances

The first stage is this tester kit, this simple pin-prick method is to obtain a sample of blood which can easily and safely be carried out at home. You then send this sample to YorkTest inside the pre-paid envelope for analysis.

The second stage, the blood sample is analysed by YorkTest Laboratories and tested against a mix of the most common food allergens. The test is carried out using the reliable ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbant Assay) technology, which offers a very high degree of accuracy and reproducibility.

If food intolerance is present, the immune system produces raised levels of antibodies in the blood. A positive result indicates that further testing is warranted.

YorkTest Laboratories will then offer a choice of two in-depth tests that detect and measure antibodies to specific food allergen extracts thereby giving a comprehensive list of suitable foods you can continue to enjoy and non-suitable foods to be eliminated from the diet to help alleviate symptoms.

Usage Guide

1. Detach and complete the Customer Details form, write your name and the date clearly on the side of the Wand Container.
2. Wash your hands thoroughly in warm water and dry.
3. Wipe the side of your finger or thumb with the antiseptic wipe and allow to dry.
4. Twist and pull the cover off the lancet.
5. Place lancet against the side of your finger or thumb and press the green plunger quickly and firmly to puncture.
6. Hold hand at waist level (or lower than heart) and massage finger or thumb from base to tip to produce a large droplet of blood.
7. Hold the wand by the plastic cover and allow the blood to soak up. The wand should be red throughout, showing it is completely full. YorkTest need this to be full as it contains the precise amount of blood needed for testing.
8. Immediately place the full wand inside the wand container.
9. Put the sample and the lancet (for safe disposal) back inside the plastic YorkTest box.
10. Send back to the laboratory in the pre-paid plastic envelope provided within 2 days. PLEASE NOTE: You must enclose your customer details form. Without it your sample can not be processed.
