Gullwing introduces another cutting edge product this year - the Sunrise System 250; the first dawn simulator to include a built in stereo MP3 player and an integral lamp.

The Sunrise System 250 (SRS 250) combines the high quality and innovative features of the original Sunrise System but includes an integral lamp and a built in stereo MP3 player to enable you to wake or relax with personalised dawn/dusk light simulation and sound or music.

The integral lamp mimics a morning sunrise and it will reach full brightness at the wake up time you have chosen. At that time you can either wake to the sounder or to music, sound or MP3 radio programme of your choice, alternatively you can choose to wake with just the dawn light simulation.

The Sunrise System 250 is supplied with a FREE MMC card with pre-recorded sleep sounds ideal for use when relaxing with the dusk simulation.

The lamp mimics a morning sunrise and it will reach full brightness at the alarm wake up time you have chosen. You can choose to wake up to the gradually brightening light or also set the alarm sounder which gradually increases in volume to wake you gently and naturally. No more harsh awakenings!

Q.	Please tell me, is the light from these units the full spectrum, as in SAD lamps, or just an ordinary lamp?
A.	Sunrise alarm clocks such as the SRS250 do not employ bright light therapy similar to SAD Lamps and are not measured in Lux. They instead employ light therapy in the form of a simulated sunrise to engage your natural circadian rhythms (your bodyclock), by synchronising these they help to alleviate the symptoms of SAD.

Q.	Does this clock come with a warranty?
A.	Yes. All of our sunrise alarm clocks come with a 12 month warranty as standard.

Q.	Does this clock come supplied with a bulb or do I have to buy one separately?
A.	Yes, this sunrise alarm clock is supplied with a bulb. There would be no need to buy one separately.

Q.	How does this product help in the treatment of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) ?
A.	Sunrise alarm clocks such as the Sunrise System employ light therapy in the form of a simulated sunrise to engage your natural circadian rhythms (your bodyclock), by synchronising these they help to alleviate the symptoms of SAD.

Q.	Is a bulb supplied with this clock? If so, what type of bulb is it? And can I use other types of bulb with it?
A.	The bulbs supplied with the SRS models are 60watt candle bulbs with a normal tungsten filament. The E14 refers to the size and type of bulb, this being a candle bulb. The Sunrise System is compatible with both the candle type (E14) and the larger round standard type (GLS) bulbs, available as energy saving halogen. They last twice as long and use less energy whilst being dimmable. As a guide 240V halogen 42W = 60W tungsten, and halogen 70W = 100W tungsten.

Q.	Does this product run on batteries?
A.	No, all of our sunrise alarm clocks are mains operated, including this model.

Q.	If I select the light ONLY to wake me, how can I be sure to wake at the desired time without using the back up beeper?
A.	The beeper can be used as a back up until your body gets used to waking up to the natural light. This only usually takes a few days. However, if you are afraid of not waking up it may be a good idea to keep the back up beeper active just in case. Please note the back up beeper will not sound until the end of the sunrise, normally you would be awake by this time and able to disable the beeper before it sounds.

Q.	How often on average do you need to replace the lightbulb?
A.	It is difficult to say how long the bulb may last. They are ordinary tungsten bulbs and should last as long as any ordinary household bulb.

Q.	Does the Sunrise System SRS 250 - Sunrise Alarm Clock have an integrated FM Radio?
A.	No, there is no radio integrated with this clock.

Having ordered the impressively equipped Sunrise System SRS 250, the unit arrived faulty. Despite the "Designed by British engineers" boast, I considered the unit of poor quality and certainly not worth the money. I shall now be purchasing a Lumie model instead.

The SRS 250 does what it says on the box.The only things that I would like to see changed are : when a button is pressed sound stops for a second, styling is a bit monolithic and the clock face can be hidden behind items on bedroom table, it would have been better nearer the top.
