Please tell me, is the light from these units the full spectrum, as in SAD lamps, or just an ordinary lamp?

Sunrise alarm clocks such as the Lumie Bodyclock do not employ bright light therapy similar to SAD Lamps and are not measured in Lux. They instead employ light therapy in the form of a simulated sunrise to engage your natural circadian rhythms (your bodyclock), by synchronising these they help to alleviate the symptoms of SAD.

Does this clock come with a warranty?

Yes. All of our sunrise alarm clocks come with a 2 year warranty as standard.

Does this clock come supplied with a bulb or do I have to buy one separately?

A.

Yes, this sunrise alarm clock is supplied with a bulb that is coated with a rare earth element, neodymium, this strips yellow light from the spectrum and provides a more daylight effect. There would be no need to buy one separately.

How does the alarm clock know when to start the sunrise? Is it set to the time you want to awake and starts working a certain time before that?

A.

The Lumie Bodyclock Classic is set to start the sunrise 30 minutes before the time you set as the alarm time. For instance, if you set the alarm to go off at 7am the sunrise would gradually start at 6.30am and slowly increase in brightness over the next 30 minutes, reaching full brightness at 7am. 30 minutes has been scientifically proven as the optimum length of sunrise/sunset. However, the Lumie Bodyclock Advanced, allows you to set this time between 15 and 90 minutes, allowing you to set the length of time best suited to your needs.

Q.

Once it has reached full brightness, does the light stay on until manually switched off?

A.

Yes, the light stays on until you turn it off. However, most people awake before it gets to full brightness at which point it can be turned off manually.

Does this product run on batteries?

A.

No, all of our sunrise alarm clocks are mains operated, including this model.

Q.

If I select the light ONLY to wake me, how can I be sure to wake at the desired time without using the back up beeper?

A.

The beeper can be used as a back up until your body gets used to waking up to the natural light. This only usually takes a few days. However, if you are afraid of not waking up it may be a good idea to keep the back up beeper active just in case. Please note the back up beeper will not sound until the end of the sunrise, normally you would be awake by this time and able to disable the beeper before it sounds.

How often on average do you need to replace the lightbulb?

A.

It is difficult to say how long the bulb may last. They are ordinary tungsten bulbs and should last as long as any ordinary household bulb.

I am interested in purchasing a Lumie Body Clock - please could I find out the dimensions of this product?

A.

The dimensions of the Bodyclocks are as follows, all dimensions are in the format: width x depth x height:

Superb service, very fast delivery. Product: Lovely style. I chose it after reading reviews on the other sunrise style clocks. Has an optional illuminated display, button facility. Simple to use, easy set up. I have ME and it is important to have a good sleep routine, which is why I purchased this clock. I have only had it for two days but woke to the light from the first day. I have not heard the beeper because I set the alarm to the radio function because I find this less intrusive to wake up to. Due to a disrupted nights sleep the back up was needed this morning. Both mornings I have felt much better awaking in a ready lit room. I would recommend this clock to anyone. I am very surprised there are no reviews as of yet! One note if you buy this clock: when setting the time make sure you wind the clock according to the arrow. It was anticlockwise, I assumed it was clockwise as most clocks are. This was even after I read the warning in the instructions. The arrow is rather small though so please check carefully
