Specifically designed for those with dry or sensitive skin, this mild yet effective formula is made with gentle plant-based surfactants and herbal extracts, free from synthetic irritants or preservatives that can exacerbate dry skin conditions.

The gentle yet effective shampoo contains a nourishing blend of herbal tinctures, including nettle, calendula, chamomile and chickweed. It can be used on your hands, face and body to lift away dirt and grease without stripping natural oils and supports the healthy function of your skin barrier.

Suitable for hands, face, body, or hair.

Balmonds Natural Shampoo & Body Wash is a genuinely natural product which hasn’t had synthetic ingredients added for cosmetic reasons, so expect it to produce less foam when massaged into the hair; it will have just as effective a cleansing effect.

1. To use as a shampoo, thoroughly wet your hair with warm (not hot) water before applying the shampoo
2. Use your usual amount of shampoo or less: although our natural shampoo doesn’t lather as much as conventional shampoo, it is still effectively cleansing and clarifying your hair. Experiment with what amount works best for you. If you’re struggling to get as much lather as you expected when washing your hair, use more water instead of more product
3. Massage the shampoo thoroughly into the scalp and hair
4. Rinse thoroughly and repeat

For the occasional deeply-conditioning boost use Balmonds Scalp Oil: massage the oil into your scalp, leave on for 2-3 hours (or overnight) and wash out with Balmonds Natural Shampoo.

Should I do a patch test before using Balmonds products?

Even if you don’t have allergy-prone or sensitive skin, eczema, psoriasis or rosacea, it’s important to patch test first. If your skin is at all sensitive, then a patch test is vital. We advise a patch test in the crook of the elbow or behind your ear for 24 hours before using the product more widely.

Can I use Balmonds products on my face?

Yes, all Balmonds products are suitable for use on the face and indeed, anywhere on the body.

Balmonds Intensive Hand Cream makes a fantastic face cream, as it’s ultra-rich, soft and nutritious.

Are Balmonds products tested on animals?

Balmonds products, nor their ingredients have been tested on animals.

Skin Salvation and Tea Tree Balm contain locally-produced beeswax and are therefore not suitable for vegans. However, all other Balmonds products are entirely free from any animal ingredients or derivatives. They do not contain cow’s milk, egg or fish, animal-derived glycerin, keratin, lanolin, tallow, or shellfish.

Are Balmonds products safe to use in pregnancy?

Yes, all Balmonds products can be used throughout your pregnancy.

As with any skincare product that you're using for the first time, carry out a patch test in the crook of the elbow or behind your ear for 24 hours before using more widely. just to check that you're not sensitive to the few gentle, natural ingredients in Balmonds products.
