What is Omega 7?

Omega-7 is a nutritional supplement prepared from berries of the Sea Buckthorn plant (Hippopae rhamnoides), a shrub originating in the Himalayas. Most of the research into the sea buckthorn plant has been carried out by Chinese and Russian scientists, and sea buckthorn is widely used in health products and cosmetics in these countries.

The oil extracted from sea buckthorn berries is a rich source of the essential polyunsaturated omega-7 fatty acids (PUFAs), palmitoleic acid and cis-vaccenic acid. Relatively few plant species are good sources of these essential PUFAs. In addition to the omega-7 PUFAs, Sea Buckthorn Oil is a good source of the PUFAs alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3 type), linoleic acid (omega-6 type), and oleic acid (omega-9 type). It also contains high levels of antioxidants (tocopherols, tocotrienols, carotenoids plant sterols and vitamin C).

Omega 7 Sea Buckthorn Oil is made from the berries of the Sea Buckthorn plant. Omega-7 is used by thousands of people across the UK for dry eyes, dry mouth and intimate dryness.

What does Omega 7 do?

Mucous membranes line the surface of the digestive system, the respiratory tract, and the urino-genital tracts. The essential PUFAs and antioxidants present in sea buckthorn oil act synergistically to help maintain healthy mucous membranes throughout the body. Omega-7 may help to maintain natural lubrication during the menopause, via its soothing action on mucous membranes such as those of the vaginal tract.

The omega-7 PUFA palmitoleic acid is of particular importance, because it confers fluidity to the membrane, whilst having a low susceptibility to oxidation. Omega-7 PUFAs, together with the other classes of omega PUFAs present in Sea Buckthorn Oil (and their metabolites) also play an important role in maintaining a healthy immune system and normal inflammatory response.

Usage

Two Sea Buckthorn capsules twice a day with food and drink during the first two weeks, one capsule twice a day thereafter.

The Sea Buckthorn oil should be a good source for the Omega 7. I have only taken them for three weeks and I have yet to notice much weight loss. I have four months left of the capsules. We shall see.

I think taking these has helped with my dry eye condition but even more with dryness brought about by menopause. I intend to carry on taking them as it has allowed me to stop using my HRT cream

I have taken Omega 7 now for several years and Sea Buckthorn Oil is the best, you might be able to buy this cheaper but then can you trust what is inside the capsules, only put the best inside your body. I have used BodyKind for years and find them to be a trustworthy company and deliver the goods in good condition and on time. Omega 7 is great for many different things like heart problems and Menopause problems, great for dryness in skin, eyes and vaginal dryness.

Got for dry eyes, that is when walking the dog in cold winds, was crying with unwanted tears. Optician said it was caused by dry eyes.Tried this product and found it brilliant! Bodykind were the best priced and the service was quick so will use them again!

Helped/helping with my menopausal symptoms, fuzzy head, dryness and general wellbeing. Also started my mum on them she is 83 and has been suffering with dry eyes but this took the form of streaming eyes. Since she has been taking on a regular basis the dry/streaming eyes have totally cleared up.

After reading lots of reviews for the treatment of dry eyes I decided to try Sea Buckthorn capsules, I am now on my third box and have to say they have made a remarkable difference to my eyes. I still have days when my eyes are a bit dry and sore but overall these capsules are certainly worth trying if you suffer with dry eyes.

I have been using this brand of Omega 7 for about a year. I recently tried another brand from Holland & Barrett as my local health food store closed. Within two weeks my eyes felt dry and irritated. Rushed right back to Pharma Nord. ~This is my top must-have supplement. As a menopausal women I think it has helped my skin and with intimate dryness as well. Good all-rounder for keeping everything well-oiled internally. As I now have to buy online I have found that Bodykind is good supplier with quick delivery.

I swear by Sea Buckthorn, wouldn't be without it. Good for dry skin, very good for dry eyes and helps me (I suffer from ocular rosacea). Without it there were days when my eyes were painfully dry but now taking this Omega 7 I don't use eye drops anymore and very rarely suffer with sore eyes.

As a menopausal contact lens wearer, I was suffering dry eyes. Saw an article in a woman's magazine about Sea Buckthorn and only found it in Bodykind. Been trying it for a couple of months now and things are much better. Would buy it again (and have!).
