Viridian’s 100% Organic Virgin coconut oil is a premium quality product made by hand in the Philippines as it has been done for hundreds of years. The coconut milk expressed from the freshly harvested coconuts is fermented for 24-36 hours. During this time, the water separates from the oil. The oil is then slightly warmed for a short time to remove moisture and is then filtered. The result is a clear coconut oil that retains the distinct scent and taste of the coconut. Since the suppliers of this oil live in the community where the coconuts grow, they ensure that the best quality coconuts are used in the production of this coconut oil.
Given the properties of coconut oil it is highly heat resistant making it ideal for cooking, baking and frying. It can be easily blended into smoothies, dips, and also used in many raw food recipes. Virgin coconut oil provides greater antioxidant protection than standard coconut oil (which contains far less of the minor unsaponifiable polyphenolic components). The synergistic properties of antioxidants, fatty acids, and other minor fractions present in coconut oil can also support the healthy functioning of the thyroid gland.
