What is 5-HTP?

The neurotransmitter, 5-hydroxy-tryptophan (5-HTP) is a compound created in the body which is used to regulate serotonin levels in brain and central nervous system. 5- HTP may help support and maintain a balanced and relaxed outlook on life. 5 HTP may also help support healthy weight management and healthy sleeping patterns.

Doctor`s Best 5-HTP is derived from the seeds of the Griffonia simplicifolia plant. Supplementing with Griffonia Seed may help support and maintain a balanced and relaxed outlook on life. It may also help support healthy weight management.

Taking 5-HTP in the evening prior to bedtime may help maintain and support the quality of your sleep patterns.

5-HTP appears to work as a free radical scavenger (antioxidant). This may help to support and maintain immune function and health in general.

A friend of mine gave me these the other week as they were left over in her cupboard, and I would say they are the best 5-HTP tablets that I have tried. I would recommend 5-HTP to anyone who needs a bit of a pick-me-up every now and then. I prefer to take 5-HTP patches now instead of tablets, but I would still recommend the Doctor's Best tablets if tablets is what you prefer.
