Curcumin
It’s widely known that turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties, acts as an antioxidant and is also reputed to boost brain function. Our supplements use the main ingredient in turmeric, curcumin, which gives turmeric its potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, helping the body to strengthen and regenerate in times of illness and injury.
Curcumin is famed for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, being the main ingredient of turmeric, which has been used in Indian culture for centuries as both a cooking ingredient and medicinal compound. Recent studies have been said to back up these claims, making curcumin a brilliant supplement to add to your daily intake if inflammation and body pain is something you struggle with.
What is Curcumin?
Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric, which many people use in cooking, and is the main source of the spice's vibrant colour. It is prized for its antioxidant properties and is said to help protect the body against damage that free radicals might cause.
What are Curcumin supplements good for?
Research has suggested that curcumin can help manage oxidative stress and inflammatory conditions, as well as exercise-induced inflammation and sports-induced muscle soreness - further enhancing recovery and performance in active people.
Is Curcumin the same as Turmeric?
Turmeric contains bio-active compounds known as curcuminoids, one of which is curcumin. Whilst turmeric only contains around 2% to 9% curcuminoids, 75% of these active compounds are found within curcumin - so curcumin is turmeric's most important active ingredient.
