SC Nutra, formerly known as Sweet Cures, was founded in 2002 by Anna Sawkins after discovering the benefits of a then-little-known ingredient called D-Mannose. Personal experience of cystitis and kidney infections and the adverse effects of antibiotic therapy led Anna to research an effective and safe solution for urinary tract, bladder and prostate health. What is D-Mannose?
D-Mannose is a rare sugar found naturally in small amounts in fruits such as cranberries. SC Nutra source their pure D-Mannose from Birch, which isn't as acidifying as cranberry. As of 2022, the NHS recognises D-Mannose as an alternative way to prevent urinary tract infections.
