Maca powder, a key ingredient in these oatmeal cups, is derived from a root vegetable and has been used for centuries for its health-promoting properties, including energy support, hormone balance and high mineral content.
Maca has been traditionally used to support men’s health, to enhance libido and improve sexual function, to support hormonal balance by regulating testosterone levels, to enhance stamina, reduce fatigue and support overall energy levels and to support prostate health.
Ingredients
- 200g gluten-free oats
- ¼ x tbsp salt
- 1 flaxseed egg (1 x tbsp ground flaxseed mixed with 3 x tbsp water)
- 180ml plant-based milk
- 1½ x tsp Creative Nature Maca Powder
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 85g maple syrup
- 150g blueberries
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180oC and line a cupcake tin with paper muffin liners.
- In a bowl, mix together the gluten-free oats and salt.
- In a separate bowl, prepare the flax egg by mixing one tablespoon of ground flaxseed with three tablespoons of water. Let it sit for a few minutes until it thickens. Then, add the plant-based milk and maple syrup to the bowl, and fold in the oats until combined.
- Gently stir in the Creative Nature Maca powder and cinnamon, mixing well.
- Add the blueberries, gently folding them into the mixture.
- Distribute the mixture evenly in the lined muffin cases.
- Place the muffin tin in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the oatmeal cups are firm and golden.
- Once baked, remove the oatmeal cups from the oven and let them cool in the tin for a few minutes.
- Transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely and enjoy!
